ABOUT THIS ROLE

The Operations and Finance Director will support the Executive Director in creating and implementing organizational budgets and fundraising plans and managing compliance and grantmaking for two legal entities: a fiscally sponsored 501(c)(3) and an independent 501(c)(4).  

 

The starting salary range for this role is $100,000- $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience. This is a remote position, but candidates must be willing to travel as needed. 

 

Job Type: Full-time, exempt

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct the day-to-day budget management, operations, HR and compliance functions of the organization(s) in close partnership with the Executive Director 

  • Track the organization’s budget and manage all vendor contracts and payments 

  • Work with legal counsel to maintain compliance of the organization 

  • Support the organization's fundraising efforts through developing and updating fundraising materials, managing the grant application processes and reporting, tracking asks, managing fundraising events, and more 

  • Manage vendor relationships for payroll and benefits and oversee payroll and tax processing

  • Manage the grantmaking operations in close partnership with the political and program team

  • Develop and implement systems to support the organization’s operations 

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Passionate about and committed to advancing a reflective democracy

  • At least 7 years of experience in the political and/or non-profit space

  • Experience successfully supporting a complex organization’s finances and operations

  • Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects, plan and execute tangible next steps, troubleshoot, and make smart judgment calls as needed

  • Strong communications skills via phone, email, and text

  • Capable of working effectively both independently and as part of a team 

  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment 

  • Commitment to conducting this work with an equity lens 

  • A Bachelor’s degree
