JOB DESCRIPTION

Debbie for Florida is seeking a dedicated and driven ** Operations & Scheduling Director** to join our team. As a member of the campaign’s senior staff, the Operations Director will ensure that the campaign is able to function efficiently at a high level and is successful every day, across departments. This position will oversee the Congresswoman’s schedule as well as the campaign’s operational priorities, including human resources, office administration, budget maintenance, IT and events and logistics. This is a full-time position based in Miami, FL. 

 

Responsibilities

Operations:

  • Work closely with the Campaign Manager, Senior Advisor, and senior staff to accurately track projected expenses and assist in managing the budget

  • Manage all day-to-day office operations and logistical support 

  • Administer IT needs and processes for the campaign and candidate 

  • Manage people operations and HR processes including hiring, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and staff offboarding alongside compliance firm

  • Oversee logistics for the campaign’s internship and fellowship programs

  • Assist in vendor management 

  • Willing to take on special projects and/or events (large and small) and manage them to completion, including handling budgets, vendors, and administrative tasks for individual projects or events

Scheduling:

  • Manage the Congresswoman’s daily and long-term calendar and logistics 

  • Work closely with the Campaign Manager and senior staff to ensure the Congresswoman’s daily and long term schedule are reflective of campaign priorities 

  • Handle all travel arrangements for the Congresswoman and traveling staff 

  • Organize, vet, and respond to incoming meeting request and invitations

  • Compile and disseminate daily memos

  • Run scheduling meetings 

  • Other responsibilities as required

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience including in an operations, scheduling, or campaign management-focused role

  • Prior experience scheduling for a principal

  • Strong trouble-shooting skills, particularly related to travel and operational logistics

  • Commitment to maintaining a high level of confidentiality and discretion

  • Attention to detail, an ability to work under tight deadlines, and strong project management skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite

  • Access to cell phone, laptop, and reliable transportation

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn new things

  • Passion for flipping Florida and holding Rick Scott accountable

  • A strong commitment to diversity, inclusion, equity, and anti-racism

 

Valued Non-essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience 

  • Advance and/or large-scale event experience 

  • Experience working on political campaigns

  • Experience managing staff, interns, or fellows 

  • Florida ties

  • Spanish fluency

Salary: The salary for this position starts at $7,500 per month with exact salary depending on experience.

 

Benefits: The campaign offers a health care plan that covers 100% of employee medical premiums.

 

Hours: This position’s schedule will involve earlier morning, evening, and weekend work dependent on the Congresswoman’s campaign schedule.
