JOB DESCRIPTION

Rebecca Bennett for Congress (NJ-07)

Overview

Rebecca Bennett for Congress is seeking an Operations Director to join our growing 2026 campaign.

This is one of the most competitive congressional races in the country and a rare opportunity to help build and scale a winning campaign from the inside. We are looking for a strategic operator who can serve as the organizational backbone of the campaign. You are someone who thrives on building systems, driving execution, and turning ambitious goals into results.

This role is best suited for someone who thinks like a Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate is a builder who can create order from chaos, manage competing priorities, develop scalable processes, and ensure a fast-growing team remains aligned and focused on winning.

Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience leading teams, managing complex operations, coordinating across stakeholders, and executing missions under pressure translates directly to success in this role.

The Operations Director will work closely with the Campaign Manager and senior leadership team to oversee scheduling strategy, candidate time, and campaign operations.

Responsibilities

Operations & Organizational Management

  • Build and improve organizational systems, processes, and workflows that support campaign growth and efficiency.

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments.

  • Track priorities, deadlines, deliverables, and key campaign objectives.

  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve execution.

  • Create structures that allow the campaign to scale effectively through Election Day.

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Develop and execute political, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement strategies.

  • Help translate campaign priorities into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.

  • Oversee scheduling recommendations based on campaign priorities, political opportunities, and vote goals.

  • Track political relationships, stakeholder engagement, and event outcomes to inform future strategy.

Events & Candidate Support

  • Plan and execute endorsements, roundtables, town halls, rallies, press conferences, and community events.

  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure successful event execution.

  • Support candidate preparation and logistical planning as needed.

  • Help maximize the effectiveness of the candidate's time and campaign resources.

Qualifications

Required

  • 2+ cycles of senior campaign experience OR comparable leadership experience in government, public affairs, military service, advocacy, consulting, startups, or related fields.

  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to execution.

  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

  • Willingness to relocate for the duration of the campaign.

Preferred

  • Experience building systems, teams, or operational processes within a growing organization.

  • Experience managing complex stakeholder relationships.

  • Experience with DNC VoteBuilder or comparable CRM/database systems.

  • Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers.

What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates will:

  • Love building systems and solving problems.

  • Be comfortable managing up, down, and across an organization.

  • Thrive in fast-moving, high-pressure environments.

  • Take ownership and accountability for outcomes.

  • Balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.

  • Understand that campaigns are ultimately execution businesses.

If you're the type of person who sees a broken process, an overloaded calendar, or a messy spreadsheet and immediately starts designing a better system, we'd love to hear from you.

Compensation

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
