Position: Operations Manager

Reports to: Campaign Manager** **

Employment type: Full-time

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Salary range:$4,500 - 6,000 monthly

Summary of Position:

Ohioans for Amy Acton is seeking an Operations Manager to join our staff working to elect Dr. Amy Acton to a 4-year term in 2026. The campaign is based in Columbus, OH. We are seeking a very organized, detail-oriented professional to lead the campaign’s scheduling and advance operations to support Dr. Acton as she travels the state. An ideal candidate will have prior scheduling or advance experience.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring the calendar reflects the campaign’s strategic priorities 

  • Procuring staffing and security for Dr. Acton’s events and travel

  • Coordinating logistics of Dr. Acton’s participation in campaign-related events to ensure expectations are met

  • Proposing alternate dates as needed to secure meetings/events

  • Booking hotels as needed for overnight stays

  • Advising senior staff and partners on all materials and needs in advance of campaign events

  • Vetting potential hosts to determine political implications of accepting invitation

  • Preparing briefs to include logistics of event as well as background of host/organization, talking points, and ask (coordinated with senior team in advance) 

  • Time blocking calendar to maximize time including travel time, event time, meeting time, etc.

  • Helping to manage a high-volume of incoming event invitations 

  • Timely response to all pending invitations to secure date, suggest alternate dates, or decline invitations

  • Leading scheduling calls to review calendar, fill open spots, and discuss new invitations 

  • Additional projects as needed

 

 

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Prior scheduling, operations, or advance experience, preferably for a candidate or elected official

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage several tasks at once, and ability to work under pressure 

  • Strong political instincts

  • Ability to work with external partners and to juggle multiple departments’ priorities and asks

  • Strong relationship-building and donor management skills

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, shifting environment 

  • Willingness to work long hours and irregular campaign hours, including nights and weekends

  • Interest in continuing to work in a future Dr. Acton administration

 

Compensation: 

  • Salary:$4,500 - $6,000 per month

  • Benefits: options include: health, dental, vision

  • Leave: Paid time off will be available per campaign policy.

  • Hours: This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle, and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
