At Spruce Street Compliance, we provide compliance services and operational support to Democratic and progressive campaigns, PACs, and advocacy organizations across the country. Our work includes supporting some of the country’s most high-profile campaigns and organizations, like Mayor Zohran Mamdani, Dan Osborn for Senate, Turn PA Blue, and the Asian Pacific Islander Political Alliance.
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to serve as the operational backbone of a growing progressive consulting firm, supporting our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys building and improving systems, and can confidently oversee key operational functions of our firm’s budgeting, payroll, benefits administration, human resources coordination, vendor management, and organizational processes.
The Operations Manager will play a central role in supporting the firm’s day-to-day operations and long-term organizational growth. Working closely with the firm’s President, this individual will help ensure that internal systems run efficiently, staff are supported, and operational processes continue to scale as the company’s work expands.

• Oversee the day-to-day operational functions of a growing political compliance and consulting firm
• Manage client onboarding process and proposal requests
• Partner with the firm President to implement organizational priorities and operational initiatives
• Coordinate with vendors to negotiate contracts for professional services
• Lead staff life cycle program, including onboarding, offboarding, and staffing professional development programs and reviews
• Maintain and regularly update personnel documentation, records, and internal policies
• Lead with office management and general organizational operations as needed
• Liaise with the firm’s outside counsel on employment matters, contract review, and lease negotiations
• Manage payroll processing and employee record management, including compensation updates
• Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, PTO, 401k program, and other staff benefits
• Serve as a point of contact for internal HR personnel related questions
• Assist in maintaining compliance with internal employment procedures and policies
• Help foster a collaborative, organized, diverse, and supportive workplace culture
• Manage budget tracking and financial forecasting for the firm
• Process accounts payable and recordkeeping, including vendor invoices, reimbursements, and credit card transactions, and keep organized financial records
• Process annual 1099 for consultants
• Assist accounting firm in annual tax return preparation and process quarterly filings
• Assist accounting firm in preparing corporate filings
• Send out monthly invoices to clients based on their engagements and reimbursable expenses

• Comfort working independently while collaborating closely with the President
• Experience in political, nonprofit, consulting, startup, or mission-driven environments preferred
• Commitment to progressive causes and working within a collaborative and diverse workplace
• Salary range: $60,000-$80,000/annually
