JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

Lander for NYC is hiring Organizers that will play a key role in building grassroots support, engaging with voters, and driving the success of the campaign’s field operations. Reporting to the Field Director, Organizers will be responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers, coordinating community outreach, and implementing strategies to maximize voter engagement. This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual passionate about civic engagement and capable of thriving in a fast-paced political environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Volunteer Recruitment and Management:

  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to support the campaign’s outreach efforts.

  • Develop volunteer schedules and ensure effective delegation of tasks.

  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture to retain volunteers and sustain engagement.

 

Voter Engagement:

  • Organize and execute door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and other direct voter contact activities.

  • Conduct voter registration drives and educate constituents on the campaign’s platform and policies.

  • Track and report voter engagement metrics to inform strategic adjustments.

 

Event Coordination:

  • Plan and execute community events such as town halls, rallies, and meet-and-greets with the candidate.

  • Collaborate with the communications team to promote events and maximize turnout.

  • Ensure logistical details, including permits, venues, and materials, are handled effectively.

 

Community Outreach:

  • Build relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and advocacy groups to expand the campaign’s reach.

  • Represent the campaign at community meetings and public forums.

  • Identify and address community concerns to inform campaign messaging and strategy.

 

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer activities, voter contact data, and outreach efforts.

  • Coordinate with the data team to input and analyze field data for strategic planning.

  • Provide regular updates to the Field Director on progress and challenges.

 

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in political campaigns, community organizing, or advocacy work in NYC.

  • Familiarity with New York City’s political landscape and diverse communities required.

 

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire volunteers.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.

  • Proficiency in voter contact tools (e.g., VAN, NGP) and Google Workspace.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
