The ideal candidate has previous organizing experience in Texas, strong time management and writing skills, an ability to meet tight deadlines with little oversight from management, an eagerness to learn, and a commitment to turning Texas Blue. Other important skills are attention to detail, providing quality training, being a team player, and an ability to work closely with senior management and political stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Direct voter contact, including block walking, phone banking, and texting voters

  • Recruit volunteers over the phone

  • Train and manage volunteers in direct voter contact

  • Develop and retain relationships with volunteers

  • Run additional volunteer recruitment efforts using tools like Spoke and email

  • Draft training materials for volunteers and partner organizations

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Google Suite tools

  • Located in the Central Texas region (Hays, Travis, or Williamson County preferred) or willing to relocate to the area

  • Ability to hold oneself accountable with minimal management and deliver projects on strict deadlines

  • Willingness to work on projects individually and as a member of a team of people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives

  • A desire to learn about organizing and Texas politics and be flexible and willing to solve problems creatively

  • Access to a vehicle or other reliable transportation

  • Willingness to work during evenings and weekends as needed

Preferred, but not required:

  • At least one cycle of organizing experience in Texas, preferably at a management level

  • Proficiency in organizing tools like Spoke and Slack and a good understanding of the organizing tech landscape (canvassing tools, autodialers, texting platforms, etc.)

  • Fluent in Spanish
