Georgia Youth Justice Coalition seeks a full-time ​ Organizing and Data Manager ​to assist in the creation of data infrastructure that can empower young Georgians and in the execution of our organizing plan to strengthen our impact across the state.

Georgia Youth Justice Coalition is a youth-led nonprofit that cultivates youth leadership in democracy. Our work to engage communities, activate youth, and promote civic education empowers young Georgians as changemakers within their communities. About the Position

As the Organizing and Data Manager, you will work directly with the Deputy Executive Director of Organizing and Training, youth staff, and youth volunteers to ensure that our organization effectively engages young Georgians in transformational change. The ideal candidate for the role is a details person who understands the importance of qualitative and quantitative information to build strong relationships that can catalyze a movement of young Georgians. They are a reflective thinker, tenacious organizer, and an action taker who follows through.

 

Organizing Responsibilities

  • Work to engage, educate, and turn out young Georgians by knocking on doors, recruiting volunteers, facilitating community events, and making calls.

  • Recruit, manage, and train volunteers, including GYJC’s membership base, to participate in direct voter contact across traditional, relational, and digital organizing.

  • Build relationships with local youth leaders across clubs and organizations.

  • Develop and expand our membership base, recruiting young Georgians who are new to this work and providing opportunities for new leadership.

 

Data Responsibilities

  • Maintain systems to meet daily and weekly organizing metrics and ensure accurate data collection for all engagement activity both individually and across the team.

  • Support base engagement by targeting lists, writing scripts, and creating reports across voter contact, peer-to-peer texting, and volunteer management platforms.

  • Promote integrity, identify flags, create standards, and respond to requests for data.

  • Build and maintain clean, accurate, and timely data in service of deeper engagement and community building for young Georgians

 

Core Team Member Responsibilities

  • Ensure the Deputy Executive Director is up-to-date on internal needs and escalate issues as they arise, acting with discretion and handling information with care.

  • Train youth staff on best practices, core competencies, and hard skills to empower young Georgians to take ownership of the work and achieve organizational goals.

  • Foster and maintain a positive, productive team culture.

 

Qualifications

  • Culturally competent in building and maintaining relationships across lines of difference such as race, class, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and flexibility with a willingness to meet and exceed goals, implement feedback, and problem-solve effectively.

  • Strong commitment to progressive values and to do the work that needs to be done

  • Some volunteer or internship experience with organizing or data preferred.

  • Effective communicator across verbal, interpersonal, and written communication. 

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Self-starter who is intrinsically motivated and able to work independently

  • Have a driver’s license, automobile insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle.

 

Working at the Georgia Youth Justice Coalition

This is a full-time, permanent position that reports to the Deputy Executive Director of Organizing and Training. Car travel within the state of Georgia will be required 30-35% for general execution of the role. This role is remote, but applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Georgia.

 

Salary: $42,000 - $49,000 based on experience
