JOB DESCRIPTION

About Us

Our Economy Our Future is a statewide movement working to build a fairer, more equitable economy in New Hampshire. We’re a coalition of community members, advocates, and organizers committed to reshaping our tax and economic policies so they work for everyone – not just the wealthy few. By centering those most impacted by economic injustice, we’re advancing bold, community-driven solutions that reward work over wealth and invest in a more just, sustainable future for all Granite Staters.

Position Overview

The Organizing & Engagement Manager will build and lead a grassroots organizing strategy that strengthens OEOF’s advocacy efforts. This role is for a builder – someone who thrives in a startup environment, loves engaging and empowering volunteers, and is excited to create sustainable organizing infrastructure in the Granite State.

Key Responsibilities

Grassroots Organizing & Engagement

  • Design and execute a statewide organizing plan that mobilizes advocates and community members around economic justice priorities.

  • Build our movement by recruiting and engaging new volunteers.

  • Lead advocacy actions – including rallies, town halls, legislative visits, and direct actions – that elevate economic justice issues in New Hampshire.

  • Partner with coalition members, community organizations, and advocacy groups to align efforts, support strategic planning, and amplify shared goals.

Advocacy & Public Education

  • Develop public education campaigns, storytelling initiatives, and community trainings that raise awareness of economic justice issues.

  • Engage policymakers and constituents through legislative advocacy and direct outreach.

  • Create pathways for volunteers and advocates to participate in the legislative process – hearings, lobby days, and grassroots actions.

Communications & Digital Organizing

  • Partner with communications staff to use digital tools, email campaigns, and social media to mobilize supporters and amplify campaign actions.

  • Maintain membership lists, engagement data, and organizing metrics to track growth and effectiveness.

  • Ensure grassroots voices and advocacy stories are centered in messaging and outreach.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in grassroots organizing, advocacy campaigns, or movement-building.

  • Proven success building and expanding organizing programs, including volunteer recruitment and leadership development.

  • Experience in coalition work – bringing together diverse stakeholders around shared goals.

  • Strong ability to train and empower volunteers and grassroots leaders.

  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and facilitation skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

  • Familiarity with New Hampshire's political and advocacy landscape is a plus.
