Description
Rob Lubin, a small business owner and 29-year old candidate for Congress is seeking a talented and experienced Organizing Director to take the reins of the field operations for the 2024 cycle. Running in a key district that is essential to taking back the house, the campaign expects the position to start before the 2024 petitioning period begins in March and run through November 30th, 2024.
The Organizing Director will work directly with the Campaign Manager and consultants to draft and execute the campaign’s field plan, manage volunteer engagement, and assist in political development throughout the district. The Organizing Director will also work directly with the candidate to manage relationships and priorities amongst the communities of NY-02.
Key Responsibilities
Field Plan Ownership - The Organizing Director will be fully responsible for the creation, facilitation and execution of an aggressive field campaign that includes both traditional and newer strategies for field deployment. This includes building a digital organizing campaign and oversight of an effective peer-to-peer communication strategy.
**Staff Management -**Responsible for the facilitation of hiring field staff, including potential Regional Organizing Directors, Organizers, and an Intern/Fellowship program. The OD will also be responsible for managing the operations of organizing staff during the campaign.
**Political Management -**Responsible for the cultivation and management of in-district and regional political relationships, including the democratic committees, community groups, and other stakeholders. This includes tracking and maintaining digital records of relationships available to the candidate and other senior staff.
**Tracking and Data -**Responsible for the tracking and dissemination of robust data and tracking systems that allow insight into the field program and resource allocation based on the information.
Requirements
At least two cycles of political experience, with at least one year of experience as a field organizing or other independent field staff.
Previous experience recruiting and managing volunteers, and managing a remote or hybrid staff
Expertise in Google Drive office programs, Votebuilder, digital organizing platforms and peer-to-peer communications platforms
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills including data tracking and analysis
A willingness to think outside of the box and commitment to bold political action on behalf of a candidate
Must have a driver’s license and access to a car
Logistics and Compensation
This position is based in NY-02 that currently includes Suffolk County and a small portion of Nassau County on Long Island in New York. This is a full-time position that includes nights and weekends. Total compensation is expected to be at $5,000 - $6,000/month. Short term supporter housing can be coordinated for applicants on an as-needed basis.
