About the Campaign
Alex Bores is a two-term New York State Assemblymember running for Congress in New York’s 12th Congressional District. Alex has built a reputation as a thoughtful, effective legislator with a strong record on affordability, accountability, and standing up to corporate power. This campaign is focused on running a disciplined, people-centered operation that meets voters where they are and earns their trust through real conversations.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for an Organizing Director who knows how to build a disciplined, people-powered field operation on a competitive congressional campaign. You should be comfortable leading a team, making decisions, and adapting quickly as the campaign evolves. This is a high-impact role on a competitive congressional campaign with real opportunity to shape strategy and outcomes.
Responsibilities
Execute the campaign’s voter contact strategy
Recruit, train, and manage Field Organizers
Build and sustain a strong volunteer program across the district
Oversee canvassing, phone banking, voter ID, and GOTV efforts
Manage targeting, turf, and data VAN/VoteBuilder and related tools
Track progress, report results, and adjust strategy as needed
Coordinate closely with the Campaign Manager and senior staff
Organize field events, volunteer trainings, and candidate-facing activities
Qualifications
2+ cycles of electoral organizing experience
At least 1 cycle of experience on a congressional or larger-scale campaign required
Experience managing staff and volunteers
Strong working knowledge of VAN/VoteBuilder and organizing tools
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced campaign environment
Location, Timeline & Compensation
Location: New York City
Timeline: Through July 1st
Compensation: $7,000–$8,000 per month, depending on experience
Spanish proficiency is a plus
