Overview:
The Marni von Wilpert for Congress campaign in CA-48 is seeking an Organizing Director in one of the most competitive, DCCC Red to Blue races in the country. This is a full-time position based in San Diego County, CA. The Organizing Director will manage the campaign’s volunteer organizing program and help ensure the campaign reaches its voter contact goals across the 48th District, spanning San Diego and Riverside Counties. The Organizing Director will report directly to the Campaign Manager.
Responsibilities:
Oversee all direct voter contact efforts, field strategy, including direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment, events, relational organizing, and community organizing.
Hire, onboard, mentor, and manage a team of organizers and campaign fellows.
Draft and execute a strategic field plan tailored toward CA-48.
Oversee the development and implementation of organizing tools, materials, and resources.
Represent the Candidate and the campaign in community events as required and maintain relationships with partners, including labor unions, Democratic clubs, and activist groups, to coordinate field efforts.
Qualifications:
1+ cycle of full-time organizing with a campaign.
Previous experience managing full-time staff and volunteer programs.
Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Ability to work non-traditional hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Proficiency in PDI is preferred, VAN proficiency is sufficient, and Google Suite.
Access to a cell phone, a laptop, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
Compensation:
The salary range for this position is $6,500 – $7,500/month, commensurate with experience. The campaign will provide a healthcare stipend as needed.
