JOB DESCRIPTION

Description

Jake Johnson is a high school math teacher, union leader, and lifelong southern Minnesotan running for Congress in Minnesota's First Congressional District. His campaign is building a grassroots movement focused on lowering costs, tackling corruption, and investing in small towns across southern Minnesota. This district is on the DCCC’s list of “districts in play", and a poll earlier this year found Jake within just three points of incumbent Representative Brad Finstad (R). Jake’s campaign has 600+ volunteers, and 5,000+ people have signed a petition to get Jake on the ballot. Jake has been endorsed by the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party and he is laser-focused on beating Finstad and flipping this seat in November.

The campaign is seeking an experienced and highly organized Organizing Director to lead and scale our voter contact operation through Election Day. The Organizing Director will oversee the campaign's field and organizing program across Minnesota's First Congressional District. This person will be responsible for building volunteer infrastructure, managing organizers and interns, overseeing voter contact programs, and helping the campaign meet ambitious voter persuasion and turnout goals. This individual will work closely with key stakeholders and partners, including the coordinated campaign. The ideal candidate is a strong manager, strategic thinker, and problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced campaign environment and is passionate about building grassroots power.

  • Organizing experience in campaigns, labor, advocacy, or community-based programs.

  • Experience recruiting and managing volunteers.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing organizers, field staff, and volunteers.
