Abdul for Senate is seeking talented candidates to work as Organizing Fellows for the 2026
general election cycle. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are
committed to our mission of electing Abdul El-Sayed our next U.S. Senator.
Role Overview:
Organizing fellows will be instrumental to our organizing program, helping us build people
power across Michigan. Fellows will staff events, recruit volunteers, and support Regional
Organizers as needed while engaging voters directly in their communities to build support for
the 2026 general. This will be a part time position based in certain regions of the state. This
position offers compensation in the form of a $250 weekly stipend for 15 hours of work each
week.
Responsibilities:
● Identify and staff community events to engage with voters
● Recruit and onboard volunteers through outreach and in-person interactions
● Conduct voter contact via door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and texting
● Help plan and execute local organizing events, trainings, and canvasses
● Train, equip, and delegate tasks to passionate volunteer leaders
● Other campaign needs as required
Qualifications (Required):
● Must have transportation to attend events as needed
● Proficiency with Google Drive and Sheets/Excel
● Superior written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to learn new skills and take on new challenges, with a desire to learn and a
willingness to ask questions
● Ability to balance between competing priorities in a fast-paced, demanding environment
while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail
● Commitment to electing Abdul El-Sayed to the U.S. Senate
● Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge and skills
needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant
and productive ways
● Personal and professional commitment to promoting and investing in cross-cultural skills
and awareness related to individuals from broad backgrounds, races, ethnicities,
religions, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and disability
Qualifications (Preferred):
● Previous experience in field organizing or other campaign work is a plus
● Previous experience working in Michigan is a significant plus
