Lauren Underwood for Congress (LUFC) and Farm Team PAC are seeking a ** short-term (August through November 3rd)** Organizing Manager** based in IL-14** to direct day-to-day organizing operations for** LUFC** and coordinate organizing efforts with** Farm Team** candidates for the remainder of the general election.
This person will be responsible for planning and executing the campaign field plan, potentially managing interns, and is accountable for all quantitative and qualitative metrics. The Organizing Manager is also responsible for maintaining a small field office during the week. The Organizing Manager will be managed by the campaign Senior Advisor.
Responsibilities Include:
Recruiting volunteers for door-knocking, phone-banking, Neighborhood Ambassador programs, and other events as needed
Ability to launch a successful canvass, including preparation, cutting turf, training volunteers, and managing progress
Managing a team of Neighborhood Ambassadors to build up a strong volunteer program, conduct voter contact, and host events
Coordinating with state and local candidates in their organizing efforts and joint events and voter contact opportunities.
Communicating regularly with campaign leadership so that the organizing program is supported by and integrated into the overall campaign strategy
Working closely with the campaign social media team to identify storytellers and find creative ways to tell the campaign story online
Building and implementing systems and structures to successfully meet daily, weekly, and phase goals for capacity building and voter contact, as well as maintain data integrity
Other department responsibilities as needed
Requirements:
Ability to work independently
1 cycle of campaign organizing experience
Prior experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers on electoral or issue campaigns in a paid staff capacity is required
Proficiency in VAN, Google Docs, and MobilizeAmerica
Experience developing, training, and empowering volunteers
Strong ability to build relationships and foster a positive team culture
Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure and problem solve effectively and creatively
Access to a vehicle or other reliable means of transportation, and be based in and/or relocate to IL-14
Proactively fosters an inclusive atmosphere and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
Ability to demonstrate multicultural competence – the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to work with others who are culturally different from self in meaningful, relevant, and productive ways
