This role executes organizing focused in South Georgia including cultivation of community relationships, building a volunteer base and infrastructure, area voter education, turnout direct voter contact (DVC) and support of political and organizing programs under the supervision of the Deputy Director of Political and Organizing in alignment with departmental and organizational goals. 

 

What You'll Do

  • Supports Political and Organizing programming by developing and managing relationships with South Georgia based coalition partners, community members, and community leaders.

  • Build out volunteer networks and infrastructure and coordinate volunteers as needed in the South Georgia region, 

  • Build out the networks and infrastructure and coordinate volunteers for the Voter Protection Democracy Watch Program.  

  • Participate in internal and stakeholder meetings including coalition partner meetings and other meetings relevant to organizational and South Georgia organizing work. 

  • Coordinate with other key staff on Direct Voter Contact (DVC) needs including scriptwriting, staffing textbanks/phonebanks, and strategic targeting.

  • Support the Political and Organizing Department in work to advance Fair Fight Action’s voting access goals in South Georgia counties and as additional needs are identified to achieve departmental and organizational priorities. 

 

Who You Are

  • 3-5 years of professional experience in Organizing, including managing volunteers

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact professionally with constituents

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills

  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

  • Proficient with Google suite programs and Outlook

This is a full-time, permanent, remote position based in South Georgia. Travel to Atlanta may be required up to four times per year. Periodic travel throughout South Georgia and Coastal Georgia is required.
