The Pennsylvania House Democratic Campaign Committee (PA HDCC) is seeking a Finance Director to lead and manage all aspects of its fundraising operation for the 2026 election cycle. The PA HDCC is the only committee solely responsible for protecting and expanding the 1-seat Democratic majority in the PA House. Last cycle, the HDCC spent over $25 million to protect the majority in the face of a red wave in PA.
This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for building and executing a robust finance plan to fully fund caucus operations, support campaigns, and protect and expand Pennsylvania’s Democratic majority.
The ideal candidate is an experienced political fundraiser with a deep commitment to electing Democrats, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. We ask that applicants for this position are willing to commit to working through the election in November of 2026.
Fundraising Strategy & Execution
Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan targeting high- and low-dollar donors, PACs, stakeholders, and online contributors.
Work closely with the Executive Director and caucus leadership to set goals and monitor progress.
Track and report fundraising performance regularly.
Donor Management & Events
Plan and manage a wide range of fundraising events, from intimate gatherings to large-scale receptions with 100+ attendees.
Oversee call time scheduling and staffing for caucus leadership and members, ensuring timely follow-up, pledge tracking, and thank-you outreach.
Identify, research, and cultivate new donor prospects; maintain and expand the donor database.
Member & Candidate Support
Assist House members and HDCC candidates with personalized fundraising plans.
Provide coaching and tools for effective donor engagement.
Track fundraising progress for targeted campaigns and offer strategic guidance as needed.
Assist campaign managers and regional campaign directors with tracking and meeting fundraising goals and train staff as needed.
Finance Operations
Ensure accurate and timely reporting in collaboration with the HDCC’s compliance team and the Executive Director.
Maintain detailed and up-to-date donor records in NGP, Warchest, and spreadsheets
Serve as a direct supervisor for finance interns or staff if applicable.
Support online fundraising communications with HDCC Digital Director.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum of two cycles of political fundraising experience or in a similar role, preferably in Pennsylvania or another competitive state. 3+ cycles preferred.
Strong commitment to electing Democrats to state government
Proficiency with NGP, VAN, Excel, and Microsoft Office Suite (Mail merges, data cleaning, and label generation)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent time management and multitasking ability in a high-pressure environment
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines with attention to detail
Experience designing donor pitches and event materials
Familiarity with the Pennsylvania political landscape is preferred, but not required
Collaborative worker and team player
Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Cultural competency and ability to work with diverse teams and communities
