JOB DESCRIPTION

Heather Jefts for Williamson County Judge is hiring Paid Canvassers for the 2026 cycle. This race is one of the biggest flip opportunities in Texas and candidates with red to blue organizing experience and/or familiarity with Central Texas and Williamson County are encouraged to apply. This position works closely with the Campaign Manager to design, manage, and execute the field program.

This is a part-time position, paying $25/hour, 25-40 hours a week based in Williamson County, TX, running through Nov 3, 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Implement field and voter contact programs, including paid relational and canvassing operations

  • Use various organizing tactics, including but not limited to 1:1 conversations, phone calls, texting, knocking on doors, and social media engagement to grow our network of action-oriented volunteers.

  • Meet high-volume weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals, including substantial phone outreach targets. Field Organizers should expect a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment with consistent accountability to quantitative goals.

  • Work to create a professional staff culture that is upbeat and empowering, with a mind towards greater inclusion, a customer-service attitude, and a willingness to solve problems creatively.

  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with local party leaders, activist groups, and partner organizations so that we have strong and robust partnerships in advance of the 2026 election.

  • Support event logistics for parades, meet and greets, and campaign activities

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, campaign-style environment; meet ambitious goals and deadlines; and adapt quickly.

Qualifications

  • Some familiarity with campaign field operations and central TX political landscape is a plus

  • Familiarity with NGP VAN, Vote Builder, Solidarity, Google Suite, Mobilize, Reach, or Scale to Win

  • Strong relationship-building, communication, and team leadership skills

  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; multicultural competence

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license; availability for evenings, weekends, holidays

Salary & Benefits

$25/hour, plus fuel stipend.
