Heather Jefts for Williamson County Judge is hiring Paid Canvassers for the 2026 cycle and this is a great opportunity for alumni looking to stay in the fight in Texas. Williamson County is one of the biggest flip opportunities in the state, and the campaign is especially eager to hear from folks with red to blue organizing experience or existing ties to Central Texas. This role is based in the greater Austin area, so it's also a good fit for anyone looking to plant roots there while doing meaningful work.
Paid Canvassers will work closely with the Campaign Manager, candidate and key regional stakeholders to design, manage, and execute the full field program, including paid relational and canvassing operations, voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and building strong relationships with local party leaders and partner organizations ahead of November.
This is a full time position running through November 3, 2026. Pay is $27/hr, plus a fuel stipend.
Qualifications:
- Familiarity with campaign organizing and canvassing experience; 1 cycle of staff management preferred
- Familiarity with NGP VAN, Vote Builder, Solidarity, Google Suite, Mobilize, Reach, or Scale to Win
- Strong relationship building, communication, and team leadership skills
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion; multicultural competence
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license; availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays
Interview process:
1. Phone screen with Campaign Manager
2. Field assessment (due within 48 hours if advanced)
3. Final interview with candidate, Finance Director, and Campaign Manager
