JOB DESCRIPTION

Lead Locally is hiring part-time organizing fellows to get out the vote for crucial down-ballot elections to help fight back against new fossil fuel infrastructure, win major state green jobs bills, and stop the Project 2025 agenda up and down the ballot.

  • Portland, OR

  • East Bay, CA

  • Corpus Christi, TX

Lead Locally started in 2016 to build power for down ballot races at the city, state, and county level to support candidates that pledge to fight for climate justice and block new fossil fuel infrastructure in their districts. We know that, if we're to maintain a liveable climate for future generations, we need to stop the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure at every level. That means electing candidates that promise to reject new fossil fuel infrastructure in their district by denying drilling permits, pledging to ban fracking, blocking oil exports, and supporting state green jobs bills that build out the state-by-state transition we need to a new energy economy.

That’s why this election we’re hiring a cohort of organizers this fall to get out the vote for local candidates whose elections will help decide the fate of massive fossil fuel projects we can’t afford to build, or state green jobs bills we need to protect our future.

We'll be training fellows on get-out-the-vote skills and coaching them to hold week events that reach voters in crucial electoral districts for our slate of candidates. Fellows will be paid $30/hour and work 10-12 hours per week - with coaching and guidance from a managing organizer. This is a temporary position through November 8th.

Please apply below if you live in any of the above locations and are interested!
