JOB DESCRIPTION

Missourians for Constitutional Freedom is a statewide coalition of organizations and concerned citizens from working to establish the right for all Missourians to make decisions about our own reproductive health care – including abortion, birth control, and miscarriage care – without interference from politicians. MCF seeks to run this campaign in a way that not only leads us to victory, but also builds long-term grassroots power and infrastructure in Missouri.

MCF has turned in double the required signatures needed to appear on the ballot in 2024 and is currently awaiting certification. The Political Director will report to the Campaign Manager and be responsible for helping build relationships with key stakeholders and lead events across the state.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Campaign Manager, Deputy Campaign Manager, Executive Committee, and subcommittees to guide MCF’s presence across the state and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.

  • Act as the main point of contact for endorsers and allies, providing campaign updates and finding ways to engage and utilize different groups’ capacity and expertise.

  • Lead efforts, alongside the Field Director and Communications Director, to plan events such as rallies or canvass kick-offs, that support our media strategy and/or volunteer recruitment. 

  • Lead MCF’s strategy on college campuses to engage young voters and student volunteers.

  • Lead MCF’s strategy on outreach to voters of color.

  • Maintain relationships and regular communication with labor, issue-based, and constituency-based organizations across Missouri, including representing the campaign at community events and meetings.

  • Grow the campaign’s endorsement slate.

  • Support and assist with other projects as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years experience working within an advocacy organization, political campaign, or non-profit. 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.

  • Experience organizing and managing public facing events.

  • Personal passion for abortion access and reproductive justice; enthusiasm for political campaigns; and ability to execute tasks in a team dynamic.

  • Missouri ties, understanding of Missouri politics, and experience working with Missouri based organizations strongly preferred.
