U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen’s reelection campaign is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Press Secretary to join their fast-paced communications team. Responsibilities include working with state and local media; drafting press releases, speeches, op-eds and other written materials; and helping to develop and execute campaign’s overall earned media strategy.
The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and communications skills, a strong work ethic, and enjoys working collaboratively with a team. Nevada ties and campaign experience are preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Work alongside Communications Director and Deputy Communications Director to develop and execute communications strategy and tactics
Help manage the campaign’s day-to-day press operation, including rapid response
Build and maintain relationships with state and local press
Draft written materials including statements, speeches, op-eds, press releases and advisories, and talking points
Develop relationships with local stakeholders and work to book surrogates for TV, radio, and print interviews
Assist with other communications duties as needed
Qualifications (Required):
Two cycles of campaign experience or equivalent
On-the-record experience and strong track record of working with reporters
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines
Enjoys working with a team
Capacity and willingness to work long hours during busy campaign moments
Cultural competency and an understanding of how to take an inclusive lens into all aspects of work
Qualifications (Preferred):
Nevada press ties
Spanish-language fluency
Anticipated Start Date: ASAP
