Job Description:
Mondaire for Congress is looking for a strategic, collaborative, and motivated individual to join its communications team for a top-tier 2024 House race. The Press Secretary will work closely with the Campaign Manager to develop and execute a robust communications strategy. We are looking for candidates with excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and an interest in working in fast-paced environments.
Please note that this position’s schedule will occasionally require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
The Press Secretary will report directly to the Campaign Manager and will be responsible for a number of tasks including, but not limited to:
- Collaborate with Campaign Manager to develop and execute a robust communications strategy;
- Build relationships with local and national press;
- Respond to media inquiries and pitch stories;
- Write press releases, talking points, social media posts, and other communications materials;
- Help conduct interview preparation;
- Organize and coordinate logistics for press appearances;
- And assist with other communications and campaign-related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- At least one cycle of communications experience on a campaign or at a political organization
- Experience pitching stories and building relationships with local and national press
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Detail-oriented self-starter with a passion for electing Democrats
- Strong organizational and time management skills
Logistics:
The salary range for this position is $4750-$5250/month, commensurate with experience. A $500/month health care stipend will also be provided.
This position will be expected to live in the district. The job will last through November 2024.
