A Democratic gubernatorial campaign is seeking a Press Secretary for the 2026 election cycle in the battleground state of Wisconsin. The Press Secretary will be a key member of the communications department, and they will work directly with the principal WI press corps.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Build and maintain strong relationships with members of the WI press corps, serving as the primary point of contact for in-state media
Accompany and advise the candidate on the campaign trail, providing direct strategic support
Coordinate and execute campaign media events, including planning logistics, preparing materials, and staffing the candidate and surrogates
Draft and edit press releases, talking points, memos, and other internal and external communications materials to advance the campaign’s message
Proactively pitch interviews and stories to highlight the campaign’s message and priorities
Serve as an on-the-record spokesperson representing the campaign
Perform additional duties as assigned to support the campaign
Qualifications:
At least two cycles of experience in campaign-based communications work, or an equivalent
Experience and comfort working directly with reporters
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills that allow you to multitask and prioritize projects on a deadline
