NDTC is hiring a part-time (20 hrs/week, 5 month contract) Product Design Contractor, to maintain and enhance NDTC’s digital learning platform and design system. This role will work closely with our Developers and CTO to ensure a smooth, data-informed user experience for our community of learners. This role covers core design responsibilities, including UX/UI design, user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity mockups, while leveraging quantitative data and industry best practices to drive design decisions and improve engagement. Occasional cross-team collaboration may be required to align design solutions with organizational goals and user needs.
Contractor Expectations:
Design and refine digital products from concept to launch, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
Develop wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups while working within and expanding NDTC’s design system as needed. This includes creating new components, defining variables, and refining existing patterns to enhance usability and consistency.
Ensure design consistency by adhering to NDTC’s brand guidelines and standards.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to execute effective design solutions.
Leverage available quantitative data sources, such as Google Analytics and Hotjar, to inform design decisions and enhance user experience.
Support minor updates and refinements to NDTC’s design system as needed.
Qualifications:
5+ years in UX/UI design, product design, or a related field.
Proficiency in Figma, knowledge of design systems, and an understanding of UX best practices.
Experience designing digital products through all phases of the design process, from concept to launch: including UX research, wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity design.
Basic understanding of HTML and CSS
Ability to work independently while communicating effectively with a cross-functional team.
A Passion for Democratic politics and progressive causes.
Time Expectations:
Part-time, 20 hours per week, March 1 to August 29, 2025. The role’s schedule is flexible but it should be noted that general business hours are from 10AM to 6PM Eastern Time.
Location:
This is a fully remote position. NDTC requires all staff and contractors to be legally authorized to work in the United States.
