JOB DESCRIPTION

About the Position: The Maryland Democratic Party is seeking a Programs Intern to support the day-to-day functions of the Programs/Party Affairs team during the Fall 2026 internship program. This role will provide hands-on experience in statewide event coordination, community organizing logistics, and Election Day/GOTV support ahead of the 2026 General Election.

The Programs Intern will play a key role in supporting the Party’s programming, event logistics, and community organizing — including Take Back Tour stops and candidate forums — through the final stretch of the 2026 General Election, including GOTV Weekend and Election Day.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide on-site event support at Take Back Tour stops and candidate forums across Maryland

  • Support logistics and communication between the Annapolis HQ and event sites

  • Assist with volunteer coordination and volunteer recruitment

  • Support event promotion via tabling, social media and direct voter contact

  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or a recent graduate

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to events across Maryland — this role involves more statewide travel than other Fall intern positions

  • Comfortable working some evenings and weekends around event schedules, in addition to the mandatory Tuesday in-office day

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative

  • Fluent in an additional language, comfortable working with diverse groups, developed understanding of cross cultural relations
