For over two decades, Lt. Governor Zuckerman has led the charge for progressive priorities that matter to Vermont voters, including a woman’s right to choose, universal healthcare, and climate justice. The lieutenant governor has been endorsed by Bernie Sanders more than any other candidate in the country, and proudly represents both the Progressive and Democratic parties when running for office. This year, the Field Director will be responsible for recruiting, training and mobilizing a team of volunteers and interns to help re-elect Lt. Governor David Zuckerman.
The Zuckerman for Vermont team is looking for a Field Director ready to work with our Campaign Manager to create a robust field effort that will highlight the importance of reaching voters who rarely hear from their statewide elected officials.
We are encouraging non-Vermont residents to apply to this position, as we will be able to offer supporter housing through November.
The ideal candidate would possess:
At least 1 cycle of organizing experience
Strong communication skills, ability to engage with volunteers, interns and voters
Organized and ability to multitask
Experience door knocking and/or phone banking
Proficiency in Microsoft Office/G Suite required;
Proficiency in VAN/NationBuilder preferred
Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment
Intern management experience preferred
A vehicle that allows easy transport around Vermont required
Responsibilities include:
Recruit, train and manage volunteers engaging in voter outreach efforts, including in-person canvassing and phone banking
Build relationships with key members of Vermont Democratic and Progressive parties
Launch targeted door to door canvasses across the state
Supervise and coach interns
Coordinate a statewide program for yard signs, name recognition, etc.
Assist with the planning and execution of campaign events;
Launch door to door canvasses across the district;
Work with Campaign Manager to track canvassing results on Nationbuilder
Other duties as assigned.
