State Senator Laura Fine is running for Congress to bring compassionate, pragmatic leadership to Washington. As Chair of the Illinois Senate Behavioral & Mental Health Committee, she has led major health care reforms like expanding access to mental-health services, strengthening insurance consumer protections, and holding insurers accountable so families can get the care they need. She has also been a strong defender of reproductive rights and environmental safeguards. About the Role
The ** Regional Organizing Director (ROD)** will manage a team of** Field Organizers** across a specific geographic region within the 9th Congressional District. Reporting directly to the** Field Director**, the ROD will be responsible for implementing the campaign’s voter-contact and volunteer-engagement plans at the regional level. The ideal candidate is a strong manager and coach with field experience, a commitment to inclusive leadership, and a deep belief in the power of grassroots organizing to win elections.
Responsibilities:
Manage and coach a team of Field Organizers, providing mentorship, accountability, and ongoing development.
Implement the campaign’s field plan, ensuring daily and weekly voter-contact goals are met.
Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to build durable local teams and leadership pipelines.
Oversee ** canvasses, phone banks, text banks, and community events** across your region.
Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting in ** VAN** and maintain data integrity.
Collaborate with the ** Field Director and other Regional Directors** to share best practices, troubleshoot challenges, and coordinate cross-regional initiatives.
Represent the campaign in local coalition spaces, community events, and volunteer trainings.
Qualifications:
At least two campaign cycles of field organizing experience, with demonstrated success in staff or volunteer management.
Ability to set goals, manage performance, and coach organizers toward measurable results.
Strong understanding of voter-contact strategies, volunteer management, and field data systems (VAN required).
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Access to reliable transportation for travel throughout the region.
Compensation & Benefits:
Competitive salary commensurate with experience starting at $4,500/month, plus health stipend and transportation stipend.
