About the Campaign

State Senator Laura Fine is running for Congress to bring compassionate, pragmatic leadership to Washington. As Chair of the Illinois Senate Behavioral & Mental Health Committee, she has led major health care reforms like expanding access to mental-health services, strengthening insurance consumer protections, and holding insurers accountable so families can get the care they need. She has also been a strong defender of reproductive rights and environmental safeguards. This is a ** community-centered campaign** built on intentional communication and local leadership, with organizing at the heart of the effort.

 

About the Role

The ** Regional Organizing Director (ROD)** will manage a team of** Field Organizers** across a specific geographic region within the 9th Congressional District. Reporting directly to the** Field Director**, the ROD will be responsible for implementing the campaign’s voter-contact and volunteer-engagement plans at the regional level. The ideal candidate is a strong manager and coach with field experience, a commitment to inclusive leadership, and a deep belief in the power of grassroots organizing to win elections.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coach a team of Field Organizers, providing mentorship, accountability, and ongoing development.

  • Implement the campaign’s field plan, ensuring daily and weekly voter-contact goals are met.

  • Recruit, train, and retain volunteers to build durable local teams and leadership pipelines.

  • Oversee ** canvasses, phone banks, text banks, and community events** across your region.

  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and reporting in ** VAN** and maintain data integrity.

  • Collaborate with the ** Field Director and other Regional Directors** to share best practices, troubleshoot challenges, and coordinate cross-regional initiatives.

  • Represent the campaign in local coalition spaces, community events, and volunteer trainings.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least two campaign cycles of field organizing experience, with demonstrated success in staff or volunteer management.

  • Ability to set goals, manage performance, and coach organizers toward measurable results.

  • Strong understanding of voter-contact strategies, volunteer management, and field data systems (VAN required).

  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Access to reliable transportation for travel throughout the region.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary commensurate with experience starting at $4,500/month, plus health stipend and transportation stipend.
