The New Hampshire House Democratic Caucus is seeking highly motivated individuals to help flip the New Hampshire House. These positions will report to the Executive Director and Candidate Services Director.
A strong candidate will have a collaborative approach to problem-solving, a strategic mind, and the ability to lead a diverse group of stakeholders, including State Rep candidates. These are entry-level positions, and prior professional campaign experience is not required, but volunteer experience and other involvement in Democratic and progressive causes is a plus. Candidates should possess a willingness to learn on the job, critical thinking skills, and a passion for state and local politics.
General information: These jobs are based in New Hampshire, and relocation to the assigned region within the state is required. Work will primarily be completed in person, with frequent travel within the assigned region and occasional commute to Concord, NH, for in-person all-team meetings and training. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, with an earliest potential start date of April 30th. This is a cycle-based position, with an end date of December 15, 2024.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Oversee the campaigns of multiple candidates for NH State Representative and provide regular updates to the Executive Director & Candidate Services Director
Assist candidates in preparing campaign materials (mail, literature, social media, etc) and help them set goals for door knocking, fundraising, etc.
Write campaign plans for targeted candidates and perform regular check-ins to keep them on track throughout the campaign
Help candidates file their campaign finance reports as necessary
Be prepared to answer specific campaign questions from candidates and give strategic advice
Assist with candidate trainings run by the NH House Democratic Victory Campaign Committee and other group projects necessary to flipping the New Hampshire House
Attend political events and meetings around the state when strategic for building relationships with candidates, allied campaigns, and allied organizations
Other duties necessary to flipping the New Hampshire House may be assigned
Required skills and qualifications:
Passion for Democratic policies
Some political background preferred (work experience, internship, coursework, etc.)
Familiar with social media and comfortable using digital platforms for voter engagement
Poses superior interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and organizations
Fast learner and willing to go above and beyond and find creative solutions to problems
Demonstrates natural time management and organizational skills
Capable of managing multiple priorities and tasks under ever-changing deadlines
Able to work independently and in a team environment
Working laptop, valid driver’s license, and reliable access to a vehicle
