JOB DESCRIPTION

Location: New York (Role based Upstate)

Manager: Coalitions Director 

Starting Salary: $6,500 monthly (commensurate with experience)

Friends for Kathy Hochul is seeking a full-time Regional Coalitions Director for the campaign of New York State’s first female Governor, Kathy Hochul. The role oversees the execution of the campaign’s Coalitions program in the Upstate Region (Western NY, Fingerlakes Region, Southern Tier, Central NY, North Country, Mohawk Valley, Capital District). 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with elected partners, community leaders and advocates across the region

  • Support Coalitions Director in developing Coalition Advisory Councils among key constituencies and stakeholders in the region

  • Serve as event planning and logistics lead for Coalitions events in the region

  • Coordinate with Coordinated Campaign partners across the region

  • Support briefing needs, including review, coordination, and dissemination of materials for coalitions events & political call time

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience managing political relationships and supporting campaign events

  • Strong ties to Western NY, Fingerlakes Region, Southern Tier, Central NY, North Country, Mohawk Valley, or Capital District, a plus

  • Must be willing to work non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings

  • Strong work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Well-organized, with strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
