Position Overview
On behalf of Battleground New York and Battleground New York Action, Grossman Solutions is recruiting several Regional Organizers to oversee organizing and partnership efforts in two key regions across New York State: Lower Hudson Valley and Syracuse/Utica.
Successful candidates will have significant experience in field program management, local political and labor organization outreach, accountability actions, and leading coalition efforts and actions. Regional Organizers will work collaboratively with Battleground New York Paid Field Supervisors and report to the Organizing Director.
About Battleground New York and Battleground New York Action
In 2024, New York is a central battleground in the effort to regain the House. Battleground New York is a new coalition of New York’s leading organizations, unions, and movements, representing hundreds of thousands of people from all walks of life. Together, we will build the largest field operation in New York’s history and take back the House majority.
Battleground New York and its sister organization, Battleground New York Action, are supported by 1199SEIU United Healthcare Workers East, 32BJ SEIU, AFSCME, Communications Workers of America District 1, Indivisible, the New York State Nurses Association, Planned Parenthood New York Empire State Acts, and the Working Families Party.
Key Job Responsibilities
Staffing regional coalition meetings, calls, and convenings
Planning and executing regional coalition events including, but not limited to, canvasses, phone/text banks, press events, and trainings.
Building and maintaining relationships with the organizations to grow the coalition
Building relationships with and supporting organizational grantees in the region
Working collaboratively with the Paid Field team to enhance voter registration and voter contact efforts
Qualifications
6+ years experience in community, political, and/or issue organizing
Deep knowledge of and relationship in the selected regions
Experience managing relationships with volunteers, grassroots leaders, and organizational leaders.
Experience planning and executing events
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects.
Ability and willingness to work a demanding campaign schedule, including nights and weekends
A licensed driver with reliable access to a vehicle
Location
The Regional Organizer must be based in their assigned region.
Compensation
The pay range for this position is $6,500 to $7,500 a month, based on qualifications, experience, and location. Benefits include a health insurance stipend.
