JOB DESCRIPTION

Gloria Johnson for U.S. Senate is hiring Regional Field Directors to lead our Field program in Tennessee for the 2024 cycle. Tennessee is in a unique position, with a viable Democrat running statewide for the first time since 2018. The campaign has already smashed fundraising records, with over 30,000 donors having already chipped in and this contest being viewed by many observers as the sleeper race of the cycle. As a member of the Tennessee Three, Gloria Johnson has galvanized progressive support across the state, leading a burgeoning, first-of-its-kind movement for progressive change which is poised to deliver a landscape-shifting set of election results in one of the reddest states in the country. Summary

Regional Field Directors’ overall objectives will be: to coach and manage a team of organizers, implement the statewide organizing plan within their region, and effectively facilitate communication both to and from the ground. This position is full time, in-person, and based in Tennessee, with travel expected. Regional Field Directors will report directly to the Field Director. We are hiring for multiple positions across the state - we will be organizing everywhere!

Topline Responsibilities

  •  Hire, train, coach, and manage a diverse team of field organizers + interns

  • Hold a team of organizers accountable to a variety of numbers-based metrics

  • Manage organizer priorities, time usage, and other resources within a region to meet

  • weekly metrics

  • Effectively communicate complex information both to and from the ground

  • Provide constant support and solutions for organizers and interns

  • Motivate a team of organizers and interns through challenging circumstances

  • Ensure that the region meets all statewide data integrity standards

  • Necessary Experience/Qualifications

  • 1-2 cycles of organizing experience

  • Ability to create and maintain team culture and strong relationships with staff

  • Skilled at communicating complex information verbally and in writing, both upward and

  • downward

  •  Commitment to learning and taking + implementing feedback quickly

  • Proficient in VAN; fluent in interpreting numbers in the context of a volunteer pipeline

  • Willingness to work long, irregular hours

  • Commitment to pushing yourself and your team to meet the moment

Preferred Experience/Qualifications

  • Experience working on statewide and/or coordinated campaigns

  • Campaign work experience in Tennessee

  • Personal ties to Tennessee

  • Experience with staff management

  • Proficiency with building tools + coding in Excel

Compensation

  • This position is salaried at $5,500 per month.
