The Florida Democratic Party is implementing a year-round, volunteer-driven voter contact program to re-enroll more than one million Democrats in Vote-by-Mail (VBM) and build durable organizing infrastructure across all 67 counties. Regional Field Organizers (RFOs) play a central leadership role in ensuring the program is executed with consistency, accountability, and alignment across counties within their assigned region.
RFOs are responsible for managing field operations, supporting local Democratic Executive Committees (DECs), developing volunteer leadership pipelines, and ensuring that voter contact efforts are scaled and sustained across the region. This role requires strategic judgment, strong political instincts, and a deep commitment to field organizing as a tool for long-term power-building.
Core Responsibilities
*Program Implementation and Oversight: Manage field execution in a multi-county region, ensuring alignment with statewide VBM program goals, protocols, and timelines.
*Staff Supervision and Leadership Development: Directly supervise field fellows and coach volunteers into leadership roles. Provide clear expectations, feedback, and support to help team members meet goals and grow as organizers.
*Local Partnership and County Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with DEC leaders, clubs, caucuses, and local partners. Offer structured support and guidance to help counties build their own sustainable organizing programs.
*Volunteer Infrastructure and Engagement: Lead regional efforts to recruit, train, and retain volunteers. Develop leadership pipelines that allow high-performing volunteers to take on expanded responsibilities.
*Voter Contact Coordination: Support phonebanking, canvassing, and other voter contact efforts across the region. Ensure consistent implementation of voter contact strategy, tools, and data systems.
*Data and Accountability: Monitor performance using FDP’s dashboards and reporting tools. Maintain data integrity and ensure that metrics are tracked and addressed in a timely and solutions-oriented manner.
*Cross-Team Collaboration: Coordinate with FDP’s statewide data, digital, political, candidates & campaigns, and communications teams to ensure regional work is well-integrated with other program areas, as directed.
