Planned Parenthood Action Oregon (PPAO) is hiring a Regional Field Organizer to support organizing efforts in Central/Eastern Oregon.

Planned Parenthood Action Oregon (PPAO) is the advocacy and political arm of Planned Parenthood, working to protect and expand access to reproductive health care through public policy, organizing, and community engagement. This role is part of the PPAO team and is supported by Planned Parenthood Columbia Willamette (PPCW) and Planned Parenthood of Southwestern Oregon (PPSO).

Build community power. Mobilize supporters. Help protect and expand access to reproductive health care. Lead grassroots organizing efforts across the region – engage voters, recruit volunteers, build relationships that advance Planned Parenthood’s mission and political priorities.

 

What You’ll Do

In this role, you’ll plan and execute field organizing strategies that engage supporters and mobilize communities.

During a typical week, you might:

  • Recruit, train, and lead volunteers and community advocates

  • Plan and run field activities like canvassing, phone banking, tabling, and events

  • Build relationships with community members, partners, and coalition organizations

  • Support voter engagement efforts and grassroots lobbying initiatives

  • Grow and activate a strong base of supporters across your region

  • Track outreach efforts and maintain accurate data to support organizing goals

You’ll play a key role in building long-term movement power while also supporting rapid-response efforts during legislative and political moments.

 

Location & Schedule

This is a  hybrid/telework position based in Central/Eastern Oregon.

  • Work will begin temporarily fully remote within the region

  • Once a PPCW worksite is established, the role will transition to a hybrid schedule

  • Most field work will take place in  Deschutes County (Bend area)

 

Requirements:

  • Must reside in Central/Eastern Oregon

  • Must be able to travel frequently within the region (including Bend)

  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and active insurance

This role typically works Monday - Friday but will include evening and weekend work based on organizing and event needs.

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • At least 1 year of experience in organizing, advocacy, or related volunteer work

  • Understanding of local, state, and federal political or legislative systems

  • Experience engaging or recruiting volunteers (including outreach or “cold calling”)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to connect with diverse audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with grassroots organizing strategies and tactics

  • Familiarity with tools like VAN, EveryAction, or Hustle

  • Experience working with coalition partners or community organizations

  • Bilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Ukrainian, or others)

 

Pay & Growth

**$52,910 – $77,080 annually. **Pay is based on experience and internal equity, with opportunities to grow over time.
