Regional Organizer Director, Democratic Party of Illinois

The Democratic Party of Illinois (DPI) is seeking dynamic individuals to fill multiple Regional Organizer Director (ROD) positions for the 2024 Coordinated Campaign. The ROD is a full-time position that combines field, political, and communications work, and will be crucial in our efforts to build the Democratic Party and expand Democratic majorities in advance of the November 2024 election cycle

 

DPI is currently recruiting for two ROD’s to support the 2024 Coordinated Campaign. One position will be based in the far west suburban counties and the other in the northwest collar counties. Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout their region regularly.

What Will You Do?

As a regional representative of DPI, Regional Organizer Directors will manage party outreach to key regional stakeholders to establish and grow DPI’s local presence, inform program development and party infrastructure based on the needs of regional stakeholders, recruit and mobilize volunteers, and ensure the efficient and effective delivery of party services and within your region. 

 

Responsibilities Include:

 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders on the federal, state, and local level as well as within independent political groups, grassroots organizations, and local community organizations;

  • Work with the Coordinated Campaign Director to manage and execute the coordinated campaign for the Party at the regional level; 

  • Recruit and manage the coordination of DPI volunteers for events, petition gathering, voter registration, voter contact, and other party initiatives.

  • Support key stakeholders in developing and executing their organizational plans with the goals of; expanding the Democratic base and local grassroots networks;

  • Represent DPI at local meetings and events such as township meetings, county central committee meetings, fundraisers, and other regularly hosted or relevant stakeholder meetings;

  • Manage and develop systems to track active DPI programming in-region;

  • Other duties as assigned

 

Who Are You?

The ideal candidate will be a passionate promoter of Democratic values, and have direct or transferable experience in multiple areas of campaign work. Additionally, candidates should be excited to build a structure that will outlast them, and have a collaborative, customer-service oriented mindset.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least one to two cycles of campaign/political experience or similar role;

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment;

  • Sense of humor and solutions-oriented attitude;

  • Knowledge of Votebuilder, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite preferred;

  • A demonstrated understanding of cultural competency;

  • Comfort with speaking persuasively in front of crowds.

 

These positions will be based around the state, and we ask that candidates eventually live in their

district (if not already residing there). Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout their

district regularly. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license, and a reliable mode of

transportation.

 

The salary for this role is $55,000 - $60,000 and is commensurate with experience. DPI also

offers a generous benefits package with the opportunity for growth.

 

This role will conclude on December 31st, 2024.
