We are looking for highly motivated, passionate, and talented team of Regional Organizing Directors to join our Coordinated Campaign team in Maine.
The Regional Organizing Directors are responsible for managing the Field Organizers on the 2026 Maine Coordinated Campaign. They will lead the implementation of a variety of volunteer recruitment and direct voter contact tactics to build capacity, develop leadership, and meet voters all over their region. They will collaborate with other field staff to identify challenges facing organizers and develop solutions to help staff grow and excel.
They report to the MDP’s Deputy Field Director and will work with them to implement and execute the field program in their region. At their core, the Regional Organizing Director thrives when developing a culture, systems, and structure that sets staff up for success.
About the Role
This is an opportunity to be on the front lines of one of the most important fights in the country this year. Our Regional Organizing Directors will be instrumental in advocating for working Mainers and defeating MAGA Republicans at every level of the ballot by running strong field programs in your region.
You'll be part of managing and motivating a hardworking, passionate team fighting for our democracy, working in the field across your assigned region. This job is ideal for someone with great people skills, managerial experience, a strong work ethic, and a passion for making a difference in Maine. This role is a full-time position through the second week of November 2026 that will consistently require over 55 to 60 hour work weeks.
Responsibilities
Manage and train on an ongoing basis a team of field organizers to meet voter contact and capacity-building goals.
Develop regional strategies and systems that lead your team to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity.
Build and maintain political relationships with local leaders in your region to increase buy-in and trust in the coordinated campaign at large.
Ensure that all staff in your region are trained on the technical aspects of the job, and coached on how to do their job better daily.
Keep your team focused and motivated in a high-stress, rigorous work schedule and environment.
Adhere to stated deadlines and maintain effective communication with MDP’s Deputy Field Director, Field Director, and other senior staff.

You have access to a cell phone, laptop, reliable transportation, and are willing to travel frequently within your assigned region.
Must be able to work in-person within the assigned region throughout the campaign.

This is a full-time, temporary position through the middle of November 2026, paid at $5,500/month. This position includes a full benefits package and is part of the Maine Democratic Party’s Coordinated Campaign bargaining unit, represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local #1837.
