Job Description

**Ohio Coordinated Campaign **
_Title: Regional Organizing Director _

**Summary: **In 2023, Ohio became the nation’s foremost battleground for protecting abortion rights - winning a ballot initiative fight that gave hope to Democrats across the country. In 2024, Ohio will be the center of the battle for control of the U.S. Senate. Ohio must re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown, a champion for workers and the deciding vote on critical legislation. This year will also offer the chance to take control of the Ohio Supreme Court, make gains in the state legislature, and defend three battleground congressional seats.
Regional Organizing Directors (RODs) will manage a regional team of Field Organizers and additional paid Organizing capacity to ensure we talk to the voters we need to win Ohio. RODs will build an in-region team to implement the campaign’s goals for voter contact and volunteer recruitment, and will be accountable for quantitative and qualitative field metrics. The ideal applicant has experience organizing in competitive races, and has a desire to build a mission-driven team that can break through the noise in Ohio this year. This position is full time and will be based in an assigned region of Ohio.
**Key Responsibilities & Expectations: **
● Hire, train, and manage a team of Field Organizers and any additional organizing staff to implement the organizing program in a specific region of the state
● Develop plans to reach volunteer recruitment and voter contact goals within an assigned region, including directly joining the day-to-day work of a functioning field office as needed
● Coach and mentor Field Organizers to grow their skills, specifically focusing on voter contact, volunteer recruitment, and volunteer team-building
● Work with local political stakeholders to develop a strong local volunteer base
● Other responsibilities as assigned by the Organizing Director or Deputy Organizing Director. Travel may be required within the assigned region and to HQ to transport supplies or meet with assigned staff.

**Preferred Skills & Qualifications: **
● At least 1 cycle of organizing experience and proven track record of reaching ambitious goals. Strong preference for at least 2 cycles of coordinated campaign experience, or other experience managing paid staff
● Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills; able to describe the role of organizing to non-traditional applicants in the hiring process and to outside stakeholders in a particular region
● Desire to build a high-functioning, diverse team of Organizers to impact the campaign
● Proven fluency with NGP VAN and willingness to learn any new systems necessary
● Attention to detail, highly-developed organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders
● Commitment to electing Democrats up and down the ticket in Ohio, and talking directly to voters to make that happen
