JOB DESCRIPTION

Title: Coordinated Campaign**** Regional Organizing Director

Reports to: Coordinated Campaign Deputy Organizing Director

Description: The Alaska Democratic Party is seeking a Regional Organizing Director to lead a diverse and robust regional organizing team in Alaska in 2026 to elect Mary Peltola to the U.S. Senate and Democrats up and down the ballot. 

Regional Organizing Directors will be responsible for coaching and managing a team of Organizers to hit data-informed organizing metrics. Regional Organizing Directors should be skilled managers, positive, solutions-oriented, and capable of motivating a diverse team of organizers. Candidates with experience developing accountability and using creativity to overcome organizing challenges are preferred.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of Organizers who will recruit and manage volunteers to do voter contact

  • Develop regional strategies and systems that lead teams to successfully meet daily and weekly organizing metrics, as well as maintain data integrity

  • Build and maintain political relationships with local leaders in your region to increase buy-in and trust in the coordinated campaign at large

  • Work with state leadership to implement new communications, messaging, and digital strategies in your region

  • Ensure that all organizing staff are properly trained on the technical aspects of the job and work with the training team to fill the gaps and raise the floor of productivity

  • Keep your team focused and motivated in a high-stress, rigorous work schedule and environment

  • Consistently meet stated deadlines and communicate with state leadership when challenges arise that will prevent you and/or your team from meeting your goals

 

Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively and clearly communicate with different types of stakeholders, from high level elected officials to grassroots activists

  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities, needs, and expectations to Organizers and managers, both orally and in writing.

  • Experience managing staff and/or volunteers.

  • Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in working with staff and volunteers

  • Access to a vehicle and a cell phone

  • Capacity and desire to work irregular hours in a campaign setting

 

Compensation and Location

The salary for this role is $6,000 a month.

Applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to Alaska. Applicants must have the ability to travel throughout the state for up to several days at a time and must have a valid driver’s license.

This position will come with benefits, including dental, vision and health insurance, 100% covered by the Alaska Democratic Party. Benefits become active on your first day of employment. Employees can add partners and dependents to health benefits but are responsible for covering the additional cost.
