Summary of Position:
Texas Blue Action is seeking Regional Relational Organizers to oversee paid relational programs within designated regions across Texas, specifically targeting the Dallas Metro area, Tarrant County/Collin County/Denton County, Houston, the Rio Grande Upper Valley & Lower Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Williamson & Bell County, and El Paso. You must live in the region you are applying for.
Working closely under the guidance of the Executive Director and Managing Director, this pivotal role is integral to our statewide organizing efforts, focusing on executing localized programs and scaling our successful outreach framework.
In this position, the Regional Relational Organizer will drive the recruitment and comprehensive training of community members on TX Blue Action relational organizing tactics and core competencies. The ideal candidate possesses deep community roots within their region, exceptional written communication, time management capabilities, comfort talking to a room of people as training leadership, and a proven ability to independently manage strict deadlines. We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated to learn and profoundly dedicated to building relational organizing infrastructure and electing Democratic leadership throughout the state.
Additional important skills are attention to detail, providing quality training, being a team player, and an ability to work closely with senior management and political stakeholders.
A successful candidate holds a fundamental belief in the efficacy of relationship-based advocacy.
Some of the primary duties include:
Train volunteers on best practices of the Texas Blue Action Relational Program
Develop and retain relationships with partner organizations and volunteers
Run paid relational mobilizer recruitment efforts
Meet program metrics and goals
Work with other departments to implement the TX Blue Action Paid Relational program
Travel as needed
Participate in regular team meetings and 1:1 meeting with TXBA leadership
Train paid community members to mobilize their networsk through a development series on the best practices of direct voter contact and organizing in Texas
Manage logistics related to meetings, volunteer events and travel associated with program requirements and presentations
Qualifications:
Ability to hold oneself accountable with minimal management, and deliver projects on strict deadlines
Willing to work on projects individually and as a member of a team of people with diverse backgrounds and perspectives
Must have a desire to learn about organizing and Texas politics, and be flexible and willing to try new things to solve problems
Willingness to travel and access to transportation to get around your region
