The Michigan Democratic Party is seeking an experienced Regional Youth Vote Organizing Director to lead a diverse and robust team of Youth Vote Associates for the Michigan Coordinated Campaign in 2024. We are looking for passionate, hardworking individuals who are committed to building the innovative operation and first of its kind program needed to expand democracy and youth vote by organizing and empowering thousands of young voters to take control of their futures, re-elect President Biden and win elections up and down the ballot for Democrats in November 2024.
Youth Vote Regional Organizing Directors will manage teams of Youth Vote Associates. RODs will be expected to be located within their region. This position reports to the Campus Deputy Organizing Director and is based regionally in Michigan.
Responsibilities
Hire, train, and manage a team of Youth Vote Associates across an assigned region to reach weekly goals.
Develop creative strategies and systems that will be most effective for your associates to reach young voters outside of college.
Motivate entry-level staff to flourish in a fast-paced and rigorous campaign environment by facilitating daily check-in/out calls, 1:1 meetings, and regular team meetings.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
1+ cycles of organizing experience with staff management responsibilities, experience managing staff is preferred. Youth or constituency organizing experience is a plus, but not required.
Have a passion for inspiring and empowering young people to get involved in the political process.
Willingness to manage a diverse team with different experiences and perspectives, and a commitment to helping them grow and succeed.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work long, irregular hours; including weekends.
Must have access to a vehicle and the ability to relocate if necessary.
A strong understanding of Google Suite and VAN, and an ability to use data to coach staff.

This position is salaried at $5610 per month and includes a full benefits package with health, vision and dental insurance.
