JOB DESCRIPTION

Lisa Blunt Rochester for Senate is seeking a Research Assistant. Lisa Blunt Rochester is seen as a rising star in the Democratic party and is Co-Chair of the Biden-Harris Campaign. She has served four terms as Delaware’s At-Large Congresswoman. If elected, Blunt Rochester would be the state’s first female and first Black U.S. Senator.

As the Research Assistant, you will work directly with the Communications Director to help lead the campaign’s opposition research as well as our tracking program. You will also provide the communications team with fact-checking support and help develop policy proposals. This position is based in Wilmington and reports directly to the Communications Director.

 

Responsibilities:

● Planning and executing research projects

● Media monitoring

● Campaign finances analysis

● Filming at events and preparing detailed memos on the topics covered at an event

● Transcribing footage within 24 hours

● Researching and filming other politically relevant events

● Compiling local news stories as needed

● Managing volunteers

● Participating in planning calls

● Other duties as assigned to support the department and LBR for Senate's mission.

 

Qualifications:

● Ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced campaign environment.

● Excellent time management, planning, troubleshooting and communication skills

● Initiative to work independently and follow through on all projects

● Familiarity with video editing a plus

● Ability to perform duties under pressure and when handling confrontation

● Flexibility to travel at short notice and availability during evening and weekend hours

● Excellent writing skills and highly detail oriented

● A valid driver's license and reliable car to get to and from events

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

● Detail-oriented mindset and strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

● Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.

● Commitment to progressive values, social justice, and the campaign's mission.

 

Compensation: $4-6k/month depending on experience, $50/month cell phone reimbursement, subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance
