JOB DESCRIPTION

Josh Turek for Iowa is hiring a research associate for the 2026 election. The Research Associate will produce a large segment of the campaign Research Department’s work product, and will be integral to departmental efforts to hold opponents accountable. 

Location: This person will be expected to relocate to Des Moines, Iowa

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Production of research materials, such as long-term background documents, audio/video research portfolios, and rapid response components.

• Ability to effectively execute research tasks assigned by department leadership and independently and proactively identify and develop research strategies and priorities in areas of responsibility.

• Maintaining and updating media monitoring logs and daily clips of assigned candidates or topics.

• Assisting with the production and filing of public records requests.

• Other duties as needed.

Ideal qualifications for Research Associate include but are not limited to:

• One cycle of campaign or political committee experience preferred. Experience with non-political research methods, other campaign experience, or research internships will also be considered.

• Research associates must be able to work independently and exercise discretion in making significant decisions on Josh Turek for Iowa’s behalf with regard to the development and prioritization of the Research Department’s work.
