Este Poder is a 501(c)3 nonprofit based in East Texas that believes in a world where Rural East Texas communities of color assert the power they hold to enhance their quality of life. By meeting our communities where they are, Este Poder is paving the way for rural organizing in East Texas through collaboration, inclusiveness, and interconnectedness. We strive to increase civic participation in rural East Texas through civic engagement, organizing, and leadership cultivation.
The Rural Civic Engagement Organizer will work with Este Poder’s Co-Executive Director of Programs and Communications to implement and support grassroots organizing strategies in various ETX counties. They will focus on community outreach, high school expansion, student fellow leadership, engagement, and civic education in predominantly rural communities of color.
