Vote Rev Action Fund (VRAF) designs and quickly mainstreams field-tested civic engagement innovations with and for nonprofits that amplify the power of historically disenfranchised communities. During the 2024 cycle, we ran one of the largest site-based relational turnout programs in history, which generated over 6 million contacts in seven states through partnerships with Planned Parenthood, League of Conservation Voters, and Black Men Vote.
In the 2024 General Election we ran a randomized control trial (RCT) of a new tactic, Site-Based Relational Postcards (SBRP), and found that sending a postcard significantly increased turnout by 2.5 percentage points across highly competitive contexts like PA and more rural contexts like MS. We know that we can make SBRP even stronger and boost tens of thousands of net votes in future elections. This summer we’ll kick off a new RCT to measure the effect of a refined version of SBRP, potentially unlocking one of the movement's most powerful in-person tactics ahead of 2028!
Note: Due to the nature of our work we are unable to hire any individuals who aren’t U.S. Citizens, Legal Permanent Residents (Green Card holders), or DACA recipients.
The Senior Associate we hire for this role will help manage a large-scale canvassing operation deploying a randomized controlled trial (RCT) of Site-Based Relational Postcards (SBRP) ahead of the 2026 general election. The Senior Associate will report to the Project Director and collaborate closely with other members of our Research and Program Team. In coordination with the VRAF Field Director on the ground, the Senior Associate will remotely manage the paid canvass firm’s implementation of the trial and own key relationships with firm leadership. The Senior Associate will monitor progress to goal, identify overall trends in the canvassing data and quality reports, and problem-solve to keep the trial on track. The Senior Associate will contribute to all elements of the tactic development and trial implementation including design, ideation, and research.
This role will require flexibility, creativity, and an openness to trying new practices.
We are dedicated to creating an organization that reflects the diversity of the country we serve. We strongly encourage women, people of color, and others who are underrepresented in campaigns and voter engagement nonprofits to apply.

Monitor progress to goal and ideate plans to increase program success.
Contribute to written synthesis of project lessons.
Fill in wherever is needed to execute the program.
The position may involve supporting Site-Based Relational Postcards or Vote Tripling programs outside the RCT context and geography. Responsibilities would remain similar.

Partner Management. Proven experience managing professional relationships with partners, vendors, or external clients.

Problem Solving. A practical, hands-on approach to troubleshooting, with the ability to quickly resolve issues or adjust tactics in a field environment.
Research Mindset. An eagerness to learn research methods and adapt canvassing practices based on findings, prioritizing a growth mindset and a willingness to learn from both successes and failures. Direct research experience is not required, just excitement about trying new things and learning from both successes and failures!
Mission Alignment. A value-driven commitment to the voter contact space and a track record of translating support for disenfranchised groups into concrete, impactful action.
