A|L Media is an award-winning political media firm working for political candidates and issue-oriented campaigns across the country. We're hiring a Senior Motion Graphics Designer to lead motion work within our talented production team through the height of the election cycle.
This is a contract position through early November. Samples of work are required to be considered.
As a Senior Motion Graphic Artist at A|L, you'll be a creative leader on the production team—shaping concepts from the earliest stages, setting the bar for motion quality across our output, and helping less-experienced designers grow. You'll balance high-level creative direction with hands-on execution, delivering standout work against the fast, unforgiving timelines of a political news cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the motion design process on assigned projects, from concept through final delivery
Bring original ideas and creative direction to the team, and identify smarter, faster ways to execute against tight timelines
Create and refine high-impact graphic elements across all products, including TV, digital, print, and presentations
Excel at motion, color, typography, composition, imagery, and animation
Partner closely with production staff and account teams; work independently while also mentoring and guiding junior designers
Set and uphold standards for A|L's motion workflow and processes; keep work organized, consistent, and detail-oriented
Help maintain creative quality and consistency across multiple simultaneous campaigns
Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of professional motion design experience; this is a senior, non–entry-level role
Expert-level proficiency across the Adobe Suite—After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint—plus AE plugins and other relevant motion design tools
A strong portfolio demonstrating polished, high-level motion work (samples required)
Proven ability to lead projects and deliver in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while managing competing priorities
Excellent communication skills and the ability to give and receive creative direction
A self-motivated team player with the judgment to work autonomously and the instinct to mentor others
Availability nights and weekends during peak campaign periods
Nice to Have:
Video editing experience
Storyboarding experience
Prior experience in political, advocacy, or fast-turnaround agency environments
Interest in progressive politics
Benefits & Compensation:
An annual salary of $100,000 to $130,000 depending on experience, through November 2026
Healthcare, dental, and vision insurance offered
Remote-friendly team with flexible working hours
High-impact, fast-paced work that supports critical causes and campaigns
A mission-driven environment where your creative work matters
