Data for Progress is hiring a Senior Polling Analyst to help expand our mission to empower movements using data. As a Senior Polling Analyst, you’ll spend your days writing survey questions, analyzing data, and crafting polling memos. You’ll work closely with our polling team to run tests and prepare data products for the progressive movement.
At least 3 years of public opinion, market research, or survey research experience
An understanding of how to turn data into actionable insights — not just crunching numbers, but telling the story behind them
Excellent written, operational, and organizational skills
Ability to juggle multiple priorities at a time and meet deadlines to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
Strong communications skills — you’ll be working with, designing project plans for, and presenting to both internal and external partners
Experience with writing, coding, and fielding surveys using tools like Qualtrics
Experience leading projects from start to finish and interfacing with clients
Some familiarity with working with survey weights and weighting survey results
Some familiarity with survey panel vendors
A team-player attitude — we’re a small, tight-knit team, and every person contributes to our organizational success
General understanding of 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) organizational structures
Some familiarity with SQL / R / Python or similar coding languages
Some familiarity or experience with focus group research
Experience working with survey weights and weighting survey results
Experience working with surveys across multiple modes
Keen interest and/or familiarity with electoral polling
Keen interest in topics related to energy and the environment
Leading survey projects from start to end, including instrument drafting, fielding surveys, and communicating results to clients
Leading communication with external stakeholders to deliver updates on ongoing projects
Analyzing data and processing survey results
Turning polling results into written deliverables, such as written memos and slide decks
Developing your own survey questions to conduct internal research projects on timely issues and events

This is a full-time staff position. Data for Progress staff are proudly unionized with the Campaign Workers Guild, and this position will be within the bargaining unit.
Data for Progress offers 15 days of paid vacation, 12 sick days, 5 mental health days, and a floating holiday each year. We also offer a full week off for Thanksgiving in even-numbered years and up to 10 days off at the end of the year.

Data for Progress is a remote-first organization. DC-based staff have the option to work in person at our Washington, D.C., office.
