Senior Research Manager - Bantam Communications

About the Position: Bantam Communications is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Research Manager to lead our team of research analysts. This role will be responsible for overseeing thorough research on a diverse range of local communities and municipalities, analyzing demographic, economic, social, and cultural factors, and providing actionable insights to drive political campaigns. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, this role will oversee the research department’s workflow and work hand-in-hand with our Campaign Strategists to create comprehensive community assessments and permitting approval analyses for our clients, ensuring thorough and accurate research that drives strategic insights that support successful clean energy development.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of research analysts, providing guidance, mentorship, and quality assurance

  • Oversee comprehensive research projects on local communities and municipalities, focusing on demographic, economic, social, and cultural factors

  • Analyze permitting and decision-maker dynamics to derive actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making

  • Develop and implement research methodologies and best practices to ensure consistency and accuracy across all projects

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align research efforts with organizational goals and client needs

  • Manage the research department's workflow, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and timely delivery of projects

  • Conduct in-depth analyses of local regulations, zoning laws, and permitting processes to support client projects

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, emerging research techniques, and relevant legislative changes that may impact our work

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement strategies to enhance the department's efficiency and effectiveness

  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of all research data and findings

  • Contribute to the development of research tools and technologies to streamline data collection and analysis processes, including leveraging the best-in-class AI and LLM tools to improve efficiency and accuracy in the research department.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Data Science, or a related field

  • 7+ years of experience in research management, preferably in political consulting, public affairs, or a similar field

  • Proven track record of leading and mentoring research teams

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret permitting and local decision-making analysis expertise and derive meaningful insights

  • Excellent knowledge of research methodologies and best practices in data collection and analysis

  • Proficiency in AI and LLM software

  • In-depth understanding of local government structures, zoning laws, and permitting processes

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
