Jon Ossoff for Senate is seeking a SMS Director to support the digital team for the duration of the 2026 election cycle. This position requires relocation to the Atlanta, GA area and a hybrid work schedule of at least three days a week in the office and may require travel throughout the state on short notice.
Manage the campaign's text messaging program, including both broadcast and peer-to-peer SMS.
Draft and produce engaging, on-message, and high-performing SMS copy.
Manage daily A/B tests, collect and analyze data to optimize copy, formatting, list segments, etc.
Manage incoming responses to the campaign’s peer-to-peer and broadcast programs.
Manage internal SMS reports and analyze small to large data sets to track list behaviors, identify growth areas, and ensure data-driven decision-making.
Assist with drafting, producing, and proofreading rapid response content in real-time.
Assist with SMS mobilization efforts, event building, and other digital organizing as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned within and outside of the digital department.
4+ years of experience writing and producing mobile texts, preferably for an electoral campaign, advocacy organization, or nonprofit.
Strong writing skills, creative skills and ability to think outside the box.
Strong attention to detail, high levels of organization, ability to function in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to work as part of a team.
Experience working with ActBlue, ActionKit, and NGP.
Experience working with Amplify, Switchboard, Scale to Win, or similar text messaging software.
Experience managing SMS projections and budget.
Experience with SMS acquisition and list building.
Strong understanding of SMS deliverability, SMS regulations, and general best practices.
