JOB DESCRIPTION

About Project 26 Pennsylvania

P26 is a youth-led grassroots organization driving student civic engagement. Named for the 26th Amendment, P26 exists to promote and expand democracy by elevating youth leadership, organizing young voters to participate in key elections, and exercising youth power through civic engagement.

Objective

Project 26 is organizing over 1,300 open-ended survey responses to understand the lived experiences of Gen Z and young people in Pennsylvania, including their sense of security and belonging, future outlook, and relationship to current political leaders to support fall 2026 youth voter turnout efforts. We are coding these surveys using the qualitative coding software, NVivo. Project 26 is looking for a consultant to complete ~600 surveys for coding. The consultant will ensure consistent application of codes with fidelity to the definitions in the codebook and work with Project 26's Organizing Director to periodically report on emerging trends and findings in the survey data.

Expectations

  • Experience with qualitative data analysis using NVivo, including coding large-scale datasets (such as survey data) to parent and child codes.

  • _Preferred: _knowledge of more advanced NVivo features (matrix coding queries and case classifications).

  • Detail-oriented approach to coding and qualitative analysis, ensuring consistency and accuracy of coding.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience synthesizing large amounts of data.

  • Subject-matter interest in political news, electoral candidates, public policy, and/or youth voter turnout.

Timeline

  • Responsibilities will begin immediately. We are seeking for someone with the ability to work a minimum of 5-10 hours a week until the project is completed. It is anticipated this project should take less than 3 months to complete.
