JOB DESCRIPTION

​​​​​​ Social Media Associate 

The Brigid Alliance seeks to add a ** Social Media Associate** to its remote team to help the organization sustain significant growth, beckoned by an increasing need for travel support among abortion seekers in the US. 

About: 

The Brigid Alliance (501c3) is a nationwide practical support organization for people who must travel long distances for abortion care. Working across the United States, we arrange and fund confidential travel, lodging, childcare, and logistical assistance, closing the gap between the need for an abortion and the ability to access one. We partner with independent and nationally affiliated clinics, abortion funds, and local and regional practical support organizations. The Brigid Alliance envisions a world where everyone has access to abortion care, uninhibited by stigma, and free of systemic or geographic barriers.

Since launching in August of 2018, The Brigid Alliance has assisted over 5,000 individuals and families from all 50 states. We are a crucial part of the reproductive health ecosystem, connecting the geographic and metaphorical dots between policy, providers, practice, and patients. 

Responsibilities:

The Social Media Associate will be part of a remote team that reports to the Communications Manager. This role will support the External Relations team as the primary community manager and content creator for the various social and digital channels of The Brigid Alliance. As the Social Media Associate, you will work with the Communications, Development, and Programs teams to raise awareness of our services and work, tell the story of our clients, and drive fundraising goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Day-to-day content creation and platform management of The Brigid Alliance’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn, and YouTube.

  • Creating a social media strategy and plan with the Communications Manager.

  • Monitoring and managing Brigid Alliance’s social media channels, in addition to monitoring the social media channels of key partners, thought leaders, and influencers. 

  • Drafting all social media content under the strategic direction of the External Relations team. 

  • Coordinating online community engagement and outreach and maintaining a high level of responsiveness to public outreach.

  • Developing and consolidating digital packages, social media guidelines, and toolkits for staff, Board, and partner use.

  • Producing graphic and video content according to brand guidelines to tell the story of the work The Brigid Alliance does.

  • Researching and providing recommendations for new platforms or channels to enhance The Brigid Alliance’s social media presence.

  • Monitoring and analyzing social media data to report on audience or content trends regularly.

  • Staying current on the latest trends and best practices for social media use.

  • Participate in virtual monthly and quarterly all-staff meetings and in-person annual all-staff retreat.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • ​​2-3 years of experience.

  • Experience posting, monitoring, and analyzing data on social media platforms including, but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

  • Experience creating videos leveraging tools such as Adobe Premier, Adobe After Effects, Final Cut Pro, or other similar platforms.

  • Experience designing graphics leveraging tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or other similar platforms.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders and staff at all levels.

  • Project management skills.

  • Proficient in Google Workspace tools.

  • Strong research skills.

  • Ability to identify and maximize opportunities and have the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple (sometimes urgent) tasks in a dynamic environment.

  • A keen attention to detail and organization, who ensures thoroughness in all aspects of work. 

  • Self-motivated, resourceful, creative, and able to work independently and collaboratively with a team. 

  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred

Work Environment

  • The Brigid Alliance is a New York-originated organization with a fully remote team across the U.S. Staff are in Eastern, Mountain, Central, and Pacific time zones.

  • Current External Relations staff are in the Eastern time zone, this position follows a Monday to Friday work schedule, keeping 9am-5pm Eastern time hours is preferred. 

  • This position will require heavy computer use. 

  • Travel is expected for in-person meetings, events, and conferences as opportunities present themselves (3-5 days at a time, up to 5 times a year)

Compensation and Benefits: 

This is a full-time, exempt position with a starting annual salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience; an additional $5,000 language differential would be offered to bilingual English-Spanish speaking candidates. Full-time employees are expected to work 40 hours per week. Our benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance (eligible from first day of employment), paid family leave (12 weeks at 100% salary continuation), 403b contributions, PTO (20 days of PTO during the first two years, 25 days of PTO from years two to five, 30 days of PTO for five years or more), sick time, ten holidays plus end of year office closure (December 24-31 for the Operations & Programs teams; week of MLK Jr. Day for the External Relations team), and monthly remote working stipend ($150 per month, or $75 per semi-monthly payroll). The organization also commits to professional development with a current annual budget of $1,500 per person (prorated based on hire date). Comprehensive benefits details are available upon request.
